Weekend Update..non SNL Version

This weekend was Amy's birthday so my mom came up for the weekend to watch Landon and do some shopping. We opted to go to dinner for her birthday with just the two of us. We were going to invite our friends to go with but since it had been quite awhile since just the two of us went out we decided to make it a low key event.

Landon was fine staying with Grandma as since she got her two new puppies in November she may be his most favorite person in the world. I don't think his mother realizes the damage she is doing by not letting Landon and I get a dog. We will wear her down eventually, the thing is I am not giving in to a girly dog I want a mans dog.

Below are a couple of pics of the puppies and Landon playing with them. The kid wore himself out this weekend playing with them. I don't think he let them out of his site since they showed up on Friday and left today on Sunday.

We opted to go to Hugo's Frog Bar for dinner as we couldn't really find anything else that sounded better. I was looking forward to a good steak and Amy really wanted some crab cakes. I will have to say the last couple of times I have been there I have been disappointed with the steak, it always seem to be over done. I was very satisfied with the couple of New Castle Brown Ale pints though. After dinner we opted to go to Cold Stone Creamery, hard to believe this but in the last 8 years that I have lived in Naperville I have never had Cold Stone. I will say it was good but I am still more of a Dairy Queen type of guy.

On the training front, I took the new road bike for test run on the Computrainer class on Saturday. This was a tough class we did the usual 14 minute step up warm up than 3 times through the following set: 15 minutes as close to threshold as you can hold, 2 minutes at tempo (30 watts lower than threshold) followed by 8 minute recovery. This didn't feel all that bad but man the new seat on my bike was killing me. About minute 10 into my set I could really feel it in my ass, I hope the new seat that I ordered is a lot better and shows up soon.
