It has been a bit of a hectic week, it started off with having work spring something on me that needed to get done on Sunday, which of course never goes as planned. So after working late into Sunday evening and trying to get into the swing of things on Monday. Everything just seemed to get started on the wrong foot this week. We have also been having some incredibly crappy weather still here in Chicago which is not helping matters either.
Well this was a big week for training and things went really well. I actually swam three times this week which I usually don't do and one of those was with Amy. It is hard for both of us to get out and workout together with Landon so when the few opportunities do present themselves it is kind of fun.
On Wednesday I actually did more than an Olympic distance triathlon in each discipline. It was spread over 12 hours but does that really matter? Following that I was beat on Thursday so I decided to take Thursday as a rest day which never happens and by this time of the year mixing up even the little things helps.
Today I didn't have to work so I decided to get up and get in my seventy minute run immediately followed by a 3200 yard set in the pool. I ended up cruising through the run on the treadmill and watching the Bulls highlights from last nights triple OT game about twenty times. I also was watching one of the TV's in the far right, every time I start watching something not directly in front off me I must drift to that direction and needless to say I about fell off the treadmill as my shoe caught the edge of the belt. Luckily it was only me and a couple of senior citizens walking on the treadmills.
This weekend is the Palos Half Marathon on Sunday which I should be able to beat my PR pretty good. We also have the usual club group rides on Saturday. I volunteered to head up the no drop ride so I plan on riding that with some intervals on my road bike followed up with another lap on my own on my tri bike.
Should be a fun weekend and looking forward to racing in two weeks.
