Where to start....considering I was still getting over being a bit sick last week and all I was really happy with how things were progressing. My running legs are coming back around and between the weekend and early this week already have some serious time on the bike.
Last weekend was great I got out Saturday and ran 14 miles on my own bright and early so I could take care of some stuff for work, overall the pace was there and things seemed to go pretty smoothly besides my IPod running out of juice about 5 miles in. The local path where I run was packed and it was great to see everyone out and doing something. I followed up the run with a longer spin on the bike in the basement. Things were feeling pretty good on Saturday and I think the body was finally coming around again.
The rest of the day was very relaxing, we grilled out with the neighbors down at Houli's and went and saw baby Manderino over in Geneva for dinner.
Sunday I met up with Rick and we headed out for a longer ride, we ended up going 77 miles the longest ride of the year for me. I felt pretty good up until the last 20 or so, not sure if this was conditioning or just a bad day but I felt every bit of the last 20 miles. I know that the mileage is starting to up so just need to take it as it comes.
The downside of the weekend was when I got home Sunday the little man had come down with a fever and was not feeling well at all. That meant the rest of the day and Monday was spent pretty much rolled up with him on the couch watching shows and hanging out. The good news is after hitting up the doctor yesterday and getting the goods (drugs) he has finally turned the corner and seems back to normal. The upside is that I stayed home today and we have got to hang out all day and just play, it is not that often where the two of us get so much time to just chill and hang out during the week and the weekends usually involve a lengthy training day or days. When these opportunities present themselves it is quite nice.
Anyways, today we had the usual Computrainer class and surprisingly the thing was full. From four folks last week to a full 14 this week, I don't get it. This weeks class was good, it shocked the legs and overall I felt really good, I would say that is the best my legs have felt at one of those classes in over a month. Got a run and swim on tap for the evening and an early appointment with my bed.
