Moving On...

This photo has nothing to do with this post but I like it and this is my blog so I put it up.

Landon enjoying his new play set

This past weekend was the Galena Triathlon, I usually enjoy this race but not so much this year. Swim good, bike alright, run...well lets not talk about that. The thing is that it is in the past and moving on. Next up Buffalo Springs, there is really nothing I could have done different going into Galena with the hours that I have been working so I am not going to dwell on it. No regrets, right? Move forward and try to hit some of the other goals I set for myself this year.

This week has been off to a good start, I relaxed Sunday and took the day off. Monday ran six miles, they did not feel good, I think I swallowed about five bugs and sweated off five pounds. I ran minus the Garmin, tried to stay steady and not push the pace that much. I have no idea what speed I ran but was glad I got out and got some miles in.

I decided I was going to do a double dose of the CT classes this week to get in two quality cycling workouts.

Tuesdays class was as follows:

Warm up (I got in almost 40 minutes before we hit the main set)
4 times straight through the following set:
3 minutes at 80%
3 minutes at 90%
4 minutes at 100%

I was really feeling like crap on the first set and was ready to bag it, I decided to just hang on and see what the next set felt like. After recovering pretty good at 80% I was back on and was glad I finished the workout and stuck with it.

Wednesday class was even more challenging, that was probably do to the swim class the night before but more on that in a minute.

15 Min Warm up
6 times through the following set:
2 minutes at 110%+
1 minute at 85%
2 minutes at 110%+
2 minutes recover

Trust me it hurt a lot.

Back to swimming, after our two week hiatus from Masters class I am back on the swimming wagon and things are quickly coming back but as part of the set last night there were two 500 for times. Ouch! The complete set was hard but was really happy with my 500 times, they are quite a bit faster than last year already and now just need to apply that correctly to race day.

Running with Rags in the morning and swimming tomorrow night, maybe an easy run on Friday. Soldier Field 10 miler on Saturday, hanging with the family at some parties on Sunday and than heading to Madison to ride the IM course on Monday. Hello summer!
